Quotes

Here are a few short phrases reverberating in my deepest self having to do with transitions, calling, hope, and rebirth.  (For any photographers reading this out there, please accept my apologies for decidedly less-than-professional photos!)

At every turn in the road a new illumining is needed to find the way and a new kindling is needed to follow the way.
- John S. Dunne

We are not called to be successful, we are called to be faithful.
 - Mother Teresa

A woman in childbirth suffers because her time has come: but when she has given birth to the child she forgets the suffering in her joy that a child has been born into the world. So it is with you: You are sad now, but I shall see you again, and your hearts will be full of joy, and that joy no one shall take from you.
- John 16:21-22

(i who have died am alive again today,

Well, I was doing pretty good until the last verse and photo...now I'm crying. =O(

I'm wondering about the weekend, if there's new direction for your lives, your family. I love the pictures of you ministering to the children and in song. I know that God has given you gifts that He wants you to share.

Praying that the new life continues to well up within you, as you walk in the pathway He has chosen for your lives! Blessings!

Hi Anita... thanks for your lovely comment. :)

About this last weekend, it does look as if Dan will start attending Fuller Seminary this fall. We'll be starting off with long-distance courses (you can get about 44 credits this way out of 144.) So we could spread that 44 over a few years here in Hawaii without having to move to Pasadena... that's our tentative plan.

Glad you like the pictures - we are NOT picture people, our pictures invariably look decidedly un-professional. I was actually hunting for a picture of me preaching to the whole church, but couldn't find one. *sigh*. Guess I'll have to wait to the next time to snap a pic. (whenever that is.. :) !)

Thinking of your family today!

Beautiful pics, all very beautiful gifts and people in your life. Our pastor just used that Mother Teresa quote in his sermon on Sunday and Den and I were talking about how much we loved it. Praying for youj guys as you find your way through this journey.

Hi Jana! That's a cool Mother T quote, isn't it? I've been reminding myself of that every day for a while now... it's a good reminder especially when we're at life transitions. Hope things are going well with yours!

When you do come to Pasedena, let me know. :) I work in Hollywood at Children's Hospital. I have been reading through many of your posts and I also sew into the wee hours, have good and bad days, and pray for you and your family.
